Welcome to the magical world of the “Mushers”, the sled dogs drivers. The International Mushing School SIM is a Sports Association recognized by the Italian Olympic Committee and the Italian Federation Musher Sleddog Sport. It is a Dog training center authorized by the Veterinary Service of the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region.
Following the activities offered to anyone with a minimum of physical fitness and love for animals and nature. Our Summer offer, suitable for children and adults, is a very pleasant excursion on foot in Husky Dog Trekking in the wonderful Forest of Tarvisio, combined with a guided tour of the Center with its sled dogs and presentation of the equipment.
You will learn the basic training techniques from serious professionals by personally conducting one of our sled dogs, harnessed and connected to you with a adequate leash and belt to the waist of each participant.
The fees for the DOG TREKKING experience of duration 1.30 h. at the headquarters of our School in Tarvisio are:
- – 1 adult with 1 dog € 30
- – 1 child under 14 years with 1 Dog € 25
- – 2 adults with 1 dog € 50
- – 1 adult and 1 child with 1 Dog € 45
- – 1 adult and 2 children with 1 Dog € 60
- – 2 adults and 1 child with 1 Dog € 65
- – groups of schools / summer camps / agencies / clubs with a minimum of 15 participants € 20 each child under 14 years / € 25 each adult
GUIDED TOUR of the School and kennel € 5 which corresponds to the annual Membership Fee (Min. 6 participants)
- > The School also offers its Associates excursions to explore the area driving a four-wheeled Quad bike. Each Quad can carry 1 or 2 passengers and its cost is € 100 for the duration of 2 hours. A driving license for motor bike vehicles or auto motor vehicles is required for driving.
- > The School provides also TRAINING and BOARDING pension service for dogs of any breed at our facility which consists of covered boxes. Fee for 1 box € 30 per day, € 15 for half a day. Limited availability.
The recommended clothing and footwear for Dog Trekking are the classic ones for trekking by feet to allow you to move and walk comfortably.
Our headquarters are on the FUSINE Flats (Tarvisio, UD Italy) on the National Road n. 54 before the Slovenian border connecting Tarvisio to Kranjska Gora.

Your Instructors will be ARARAD KHATCHIKIAN & MONICA D ‘ELISO the only Italian mushers (drivers of sledges and dogs ) to have participated in the most important competitions, adventures and International teaching experiences in Alaska, Canadian Yukon, European Alps, Iceland, Swedish and Norvegian Lapland and will be happy to share with you their many years of experience even with their passionate stories.
